Predictions
I predict in the next five years for companies like Direct TV, Dish network,
Suddenlink, to name a few to be in a bind to keep subscribers due to online companies like Hulu offering online TV shows and Live Sports it is cheaper and online where viewers can watch at home or on the go.
The current subscription for Hulu for live sports is $39.99 a month. The channels included in the subscription are the following starting with the viewers local channels in ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. Next are the sports channels BTN, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN College Extra, ESPNU, Fox Sports 1, NBC Golf, NBC Sports Network, SEC Network, and finally TNT.
As the viewers can tell this would effect TV companies like the ones I mentioned earlier. I predict once the generation of our parents is come and gone its the generation in which people my age 22 years old and younger Television networks will go online and viewers will be watching sports online only.
Here is an example of how the sports channels on Hulu look like compared to a company like Direct T.V.
Another reason why I predict viewers will switch to Hulu over like Direct T.V. or Dish is because of weather. The reason behind this because when it rains hard or hails your satellite goes out and takes five to ten minutes or more to fix its signal with Hulu that is not an issue. Finally, look at all the T.V's out there on the market most of them now if not all are smart t.v's what do they all have smart hub. Smart hub is a feature on the t.v. that has apps like Hulu and Netflix on it. So this the reasoning why I am predicting this.
Finally, I would honestly recommend to consider looking at more at my prediction and consider the cost of tv and see if it is more efficient for most viewers budget and time to switch from T.V. companies and switch to Hulu.
